We are going to my parents' house for dinner again tonight, so I didn't want to leave you all hanging with another absent night. I also have been having so much dreaming up a pretend Thanksgiving Menu. The reason why I'm calling it pretend is that I probably am not going to make dinner, but a girl can dream! So here we go!
So I will just start off with the main dish! Turkey, of course, but since it's just our small family, I think I would just buy one big turkey breast! I would put it in the slow cooker, with lots of yummy chicken broth, and some stuffing of some sort.
For sides, I would make the garlic parmesean knots that I made for Thanksgiving last year, here's a link to them: http://pinterest.com/pin/32088216064770663/ These were a hit, and I'd be a lot more experimental with them.
Another side I would make the brown rice and lentil casserole: http://pinterest.com/pin/32088216066256067/
Then for another side, yes I know, lots of sides, but this is a pretend menu, so let a girl dream! I would either do green bean casserole or green beans with bacon bits, and some bacon grease, onions and minced garlic.
And for ANOTHER side, mashed potatoes!
For dessert, I would make this pumpkin roulade with ginger buttercream recipe that I fell in love with: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/ina-garten/pumpkin-roulade-with-ginger-buttercream-recipe/index.html
And for another dessert I like to serve this pumpkin mousse in mini graham cracker pie crusts: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/sandra-lee/pumpkin-mousse-recipe/index.html
Okay, my computer is dying, and a baby is hungry! I had better stop day dreaming!!
