How's your Sunday going? Ours has been relaxing and we hung out with my brother in law. After my husband dropped him off we lost an item on eBay at the last minute, so to make us feel better, I decided that we needed to make dessert! There's a recipe I found on cookiesandcups.com for hot cocoa Rice Krispie treats. As I'm sure you know, I didn't completely follow the recipe. Also, I halved the recipe, this is what I used:
1/8 cup butter
1/2 bag of chocolate vanilla marshmallows
1 pack of single serve hot cocoa with mini marshmallows (I accidentally bought those)
3 cups regular Rice Krispies
1 cup mini marshmallows
I sprayed a 9x13 pan with non-stick spray, because I prefer thin treats! Then we melted 1/8 cup butter over low heat, then melted the chocolate and vanilla marshmallows along with the cocoa powder.
Once everything is all melted we turned off the heat and added the Rice Krispies. Once well incorporated, we added the mini marshmallows and just quickly folded them in until even and put it all in the 9x13 pan.
We had to wait for them to cool, but it was so worth it, and so easy! One treat was enough to kill a chocolate and sweet craving all in one! Now I'm sure if you're making these for more than just two people I would double the quantities I used.
I hope you get to try these someday!
