Okay, Okay, I'm Finally Getting to it!

Hello Readers,

I am sorry it has been so long since I've really posted a food blog.  Let me tell you, it has been an extremely busy week, I've have a ton of doctor's appointments--I put everything off until December, go me!  But I'm getting new glasses, so that's good, now that I'm double blind and not just single blind.  I've also been practicing and studying for boards.  Oh dental hygiene school.  I'll look back fondly someday....who knows when....

Soo anyhoo, last weekend, my mom and I got today and made goodies!  I made sure to take some pictures, so here we go!

First we tried this recipe:  http://notsohumblepie.blogspot.com/2010/02/sea-glass-candy.html  That is Sea Glass Candy.  Oh yummy :)  Here are some of the pictures!

These were our choices for flavors and colors
I cannot rotate this picture, but this is the boiling ingredients it was pretty cool!
So we got smart after our first batch and put them in round pie pans, they come out in once piece, if you're gentle.  This is peppermint.

I was not gentle...this is root beer flavor without any food color.

This is spearmint with green food coloring (duh).  We put these discs in a bag with powdered sugar and dropped them on the floor.  That was fun!  We also made raspberry on a cookie sheet, that was messy, do the pie pan, it's easier, and it spreads evenly.

I found this recipe:
I didn't like it.  I mean it tasted good, but the caramel was just weird, I ended up freezing it.

Chocolate chips and potato chips.  These were gone fast.

All in all we had a good time, we made lots of yummy things!  And I learned a lot about corn syrup ;)

I hope you all enjoy!

Merry Christmas!
