Say what?!? Am I crazy? I have become a "food-blogger", and I am not cooking tonight...what is wrong with me you ask? Well, a lot, but nothing to contribute to this ;) We are going to go to my parent's house tonight to plan/plot/fantasize about the following:
You could say I am excited. Plus they are feeding us, and saving us money.
I cannot believe that Thanksgiving is next week. We are actually having two Thanksgivings, on Thanksgiving day. We are going to my hubster's Grandparents' house for a big celebration with his grandparents, mom, step-dad, brother, sister, brother-in-law, nephews, sister and her boyfriend, and his brother and his girlfriend. Full house. That is at lunchtime, so we need to PACE ourselves. Possibly skip breakfast... We are bringing rolls to the dinner, and I am thinking about buying some, and making my baking powder biscuits too, but add something special to them, so they aren't plain tasting, maybe...cumin? I don't know...I will probably do the usual garlic, onion powders, cayenne, and pepper or something, never fails.
Then that evening we are going to my parent's house for Thanksgiving dinner, and that will only be my parents, and brother, so much calmer. I am thinking about making mini caramel apples, but I am not sure anymore, which is one of the reasons why we are going to my parent's tonight.
Regarding black Friday, I am pretty excited, our local Walmart is selling Bluray players for 49 bucks and ours just died, so we might hit that up! Plus I wanna plan where all Mom and I are going to go, and map it out, because there are at least 3 stores we want to visit that morning.
The real reason I love black Friday, is because since it is the day after Thanksgiving, I allow myself to FINALLY start decorating for Christmas, and baking Christmas delights. I am skipping Gingerbread boys and girls this year. I decided that they are gross. I don't like them, sue me. However, my main decor for Christmas is little Gingerbread boys and girls, so they are adorable, but don't taste good and are hard as bricks.
I will probably make my soft molasses cookies again this year. They were the first Cookie I made with sour cream in it! I found the recipe in my Betty Crocker cookbook if you were curious. If you want the recipe I will type it up. I want to try peppermint recipes this year, seriously.
Then regarding Christmas, I don't even know where we will start, I know my parent's are having their celebration the Monday after Christmas, because my dad works that weekend. So that should make things pretty convenient for the two of us to have a nice intimate time that morning.
Well I just thought of another blog topic, so I am switching to a new post.
